Group FP&A Analyst
Posted 33 minutes 21 seconds ago by Marks Sattin
We're delighted to be partnering with a global natural resources business to find an FP&A Analyst for their London finance team. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who wants more than a desk-bound reporting role; you'll get real exposure to operational sites, Executive Management, and the full group planning cycle, within a business with genuine scale and ambition.
The RoleYou'll act as Group FP&A analyst for at least one operating mine plus one or more development or group entities, while also feeding into group-wide budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting. Expect close working relationships with site finance teams, regular face time with senior and Executive leadership, and a role that moves between the operational and the strategic - rare breadth for an analyst-level position. Occasional international travel (roughly twice a year, or project-based) adds a further dimension.
What You'll Own- Operational FP&A - reviewing and supporting forecasts, budgets, and actuals for your site(s), and contributing directly to budget/forecast review meetings with operational and Executive leadership.
- Group Forecasting & Planning - supporting group budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans, plus sensitivity analysis and scenario modelling for senior stakeholder reviews.
- Management Reporting - preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end management accounts, performance and variance analysis, and cost/capex reviews.
- Executive & External Reporting - building presentations for Executive Management and the Board, plus analyst slides for quarterly external market updates.
- Projects & Continuous Improvement - ad hoc analysis, project work, and involvement in system development and AI initiatives.
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a graduate degree. Solid FP&A, budgeting, and forecasting experience - natural resources or mining background preferred. Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI, with exposure to group reporting systems such as Hyperion a plus. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
