The Role

Go City is seeking a hands on, technically strong Group Accountant to join our global financial consolidation and reporting team. Reporting directly into the Head of Financial Control & Reporting, this role will be pivotal in ensuring accurate, timely reporting and strong financial governance across multiple entities. The successful candidate will support with driving efficiency and accuracy, while being an approachable and supportive team member.

Key Responsibilities Financial Consolidation
  • Own the global consolidation process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements
  • Own the consolidation of multiple entities across various regions, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Process consolidation adjustments, including intercompany eliminations, currency translation, and non controlling interest calculations.
  • Process subsidiary inputs, ensuring compliance with established accounting policies, standards, and timelines.
Statutory Financial Statements
  • Prepare and review financial statements for the organisation's legal entities in UK (Group, entity), Germany, Ireland, Singapore, in compliance with local statutory reporting requirements.
Statutory Audits
  • Act as a key liaison with auditors in UK (Group, entity), Germany, Ireland, Singapore, providing support and documentation for the annual audit process.
  • Partner with Finance Team to ensure the accurate and timely submission of financial data to auditors.
Corporate Tax
  • Ensure adherence to corporate tax requirements in UK, Germany, Ireland, Singapore, Korea, United States, working alongside external consultants.
  • Own all corporate tax general ledger transaction postings.
  • Ensure all corporate tax filings are made in an accurate and timely manner.
Company Secretarial
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and statutory requirements, and other applicable obligations, in UK, Germany, Ireland, Singapore, Korea, United States, Hong Kong, working alongside external consultants.
Cash Flow
  • Review daily Treasury Team inputs into Daily Cash Flow Tracker.
  • Review weekly Accounts Payable schedules of payments to be made, making any necessary amends based on cash flow availability.
  • Manage critical lender interest payments, instigating these with Treasury Team.
  • Manage currency cash pots, instigating currency to currency transfers with Treasury Team as needed.
  • Manage 4 week Daily Cash Flow Tracker outlook, and report on this to Senior Leadership.
  • Assist in the preparation of cash flow budgets and cash flow forecasts as needed.
Month End Accounting
  • Own the Month End accounting for the organisation's holding company structure and ensure that all required general ledger transaction postings are made.
  • Prepare all holding company structure account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of the holding company structure to Finance Team stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the holding company structure accounting matters.
  • Own any non standard, or more complex, trading entity general ledger transaction postings that may be required.
External Reporting
  • Lender ad-hoc reporting as needed.
  • Investor ad-hoc reporting as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with external reporting requirements, specifically ESG filings.
Indirect Tax
  • Support compliance with indirect taxation requirements.
Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of processes and reporting through automation and system improvements.
  • Implement new tools, technologies, and best practices to optimise reporting.
Collaboration & Leadership
  • Train and mentor team members on consolidation and reporting processes and system solutions to build a high performing and knowledgeable Finance Team.
Compliance & Internal Controls
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of processes and controls.
  • Ensure adherence to internal control policies and procedures related to consolidations and reporting.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • ACA or equivalent qualification required, audit background would be a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, including consolidations.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly with UK GAAP consolidation and reporting standards.
  • Experience working in a multinational organisation with multiple currencies and complex structures.
  • Proven track record of improving controls and processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional problem solving and decision making abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.
