Hyde is looking for an experienced Groundworker to join our busy Property Maintenance Voids team.
As a Groundworker at Hyde, you'll be working in our homes carrying out day-to-day repairs and maintenance. You'll be trusted to get jobs done right first time and to treat our customers with respect in their homes.
If you're a hands-on tradesperson who can turn their hand to a range of jobs and takes pride in doing things properly, we'd like to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
- Carrying out general mainteance work such as path/paving repairs, minor brickwork repairs, painting and decorating, garden clearances, shed removals and minor roofing repairs.
- Erecting and repairing fencing and gates, repairing concrete floors, and addressing issues in garden areas.
- Repointing old or damaged mortar joints, replacing broken bricks/blocks, and repairing walls, chimneys, and structural features.
- Excavating, repairing, and re-installing drainage systems, flagging (paving), and edging to paths and driveway
- Following work orders and reporting back on progress and materials used
- Always working safely and following Hyde's health and safety procedures
- Providing a professional, friendly service to customers in their homes
What we're looking for
- Solid experience across repairs, maintenance or void property refurbishment.
- Proven experience in multiple trades, including carpentry, plumbing, plastering, and general maintenance.
- Experience working within social housing, local authority or domestic maintenance environments.
- A practical problem-solver who can spot issues and fix them properly.
- Knowledge of trade-specific techniques, materials, and safety protocols.
- Good communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude.
- A full, valid UK driving licence.
Skills and Experience
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- PASMA or tower scaffold.
- Asbestos awareness.
