Grounds Maintenance Operative

Pinnacle Group is seeking an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative to maintain outdoor spaces across numerous housing sites. The role involves mowing lawns, trimming hedges and shrubs, weeding flower beds and pathways, clearing debris, operating and maintaining groundskeeping equipment safely, and following health and safety protocols.

The position is full time permanent, based in West Hanningfield, with working hours Monday to Thursday 7.30am 3.30pm and Friday 7.30am 3.00pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Mowing, edging, and maintaining lawns to keep them neat and healthy.
• Trimming and shaping hedges, shrubs and bushes to promote growth and improve appearance.
• Removing weeds from flower beds, pathways and other landscaped areas to prevent overgrowth.
• Planting flowers, shrubs, trees, and other plants as well as preparing soil and beds.
• Clearing debris, litter picking, sweeping pathways, and maintaining cleanliness of outdoor areas.
• Safely operating machinery such as mowers, strimmer and leaf blowers, along with maintaining tools and equipment.
• Driving company vehicles to transport equipment and access multiple sites as required.
• Following all safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
• Performing seasonal duties like leaf clearing, frost protection, or preparing sites for different weather conditions.

Key Requirements

• Valid driving licence.
• Proven experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Good knowledge of horticultural practices, including planting, pruning, and weed control.
• Ability to operate and maintain groundskeeping machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Understanding of and compliance with health and safety regulations relevant to grounds maintenance.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and the public.
