Job Description
Volunteer - Wellbeing Walks & Activities

Would you like to volunteer in a role supporting our clients to get outdoors, connect with nature, and improve their wellbeing?

Our volunteers play a crucial role in helping everyone feel welcome and supporting our clients to engage in our service.

Are you passionate about wellbeing and getting outdoors in nature? If you are physically fit and appreciate being outside, nurturing people, this might be the role for you. Do you practice the 5 ways to wellbeing, and enjoy going on walks to support your wellbeing?

If you enjoy helping people to find enjoyment in getting outdoors, this role is about supporting clients to get outdoors, get a little more active, and connect with nature.

You will be supported by the volunteer co ordinator and work alongside our clients and friendly team to help plan and deliver short wellbeing walks and activities in the local community - this could include:

  • Nature walks in local parks & beaches
  • Activities like rounders, cricket & football
  • Environmental projects & litter picking projects
  • Creative outdoor activities

Getting involved in planning and designing various outdoor activities will be an exciting part of the role.

Developing ideas for the team and clients to feel calm and increase their sense of well being, and enhance their recovery. Perhaps you have hobbies or skills that you rely on to support your own wellbeing, that you would like to share with others?

You will play a key role in organising and leading wellbeing walks and other gentle outdoor activities, supporting health and wellbeing events, and encouraging people in recovery to try new wellbeing activities.

As well as the practical elements of this role, volunteers will also have the opportunity to support teams within the service that are not just part of their role. Volunteers can support clients with community appointments, educational applications, hand out leaflets at events or within hospitals, GP, etc., support staff at relevant events, and support clients with their exit plan to ensure they have community support if needed.
