Grange Hill Vets - Lead Veterinary Surgeon Temporary accommodation available in a self-contained one-bedroom flat located next door to the practice

At Grange Hill Veterinary Centre, we're looking for a talented individual to join our compassionate and experienced team as a Lead Vet Surgeon.

In this role, you will lead, mentor, and inspire our clinical team, supporting vets and nurses as they develop their skills and confidence. You will oversee complex cases, provide second opinions, and maintain the highest standards of patient care, while driving clinical excellence through audits, protocols, and evidence-based best practice.

Strong clinical governance is essential, ensuring full compliance with RCVS guidance and IVC Evidensia standards. You will work closely with the Practice Director to support service development, implement improvements, and contribute to the ongoing growth of the practice. Additionally, you will foster a positive, engaged team culture that encourages learning, development, and collaboration, while supporting CPD and career progression to help the team reach their full potential.

Shape Your Schedule: Flexibility that Work for You!

We know that everyone has demands and priorities outside of their career and we want to make it brilliantly easy for you to strike the right balance. Ideally, we're looking for someone to work up to 30 hours per week, including our shared Saturday rota (1:4). Saturday's shifts will be 08:45 - 14:45. There's no out of hours or on call required with this role.

One of our biggest strengths is our tight knit team, consisting of 2.5 permanent vets,1 head RVN, 4 RVNs, 1 SVN, 2 receptionists, 1VCA and our extremely supportive Director of Practice Helen Fern. With Grange Hill, you'll have a fine array of equipment at your disposal including: 4 spacious consult rooms, a fully equipped operating theatre, imaging room with ultrasound and X-ray machines, we have brand new Dental X-ray facilities too, with lots of natural daylight throughout the practice. Our internal lab is extensive and allows us to give same day results for many tests. We also have a euthanasia room separate from our main building where clients and their pets can have the time and privacy needed when saying goodbye to their beloved pet. Our OOH is Pool House Veterinary Hospital which is only a short drive away. We are nestled in the countryside on the outskirts of Lichfield and have a good-sized free carpark, and a separate staff kitchen area, with outside seating to be able to enjoy on your breaks.
