Graduate Mechanical Engineer - Water & Wastewater - Newry

Your new company
Hays are working in partnership with a leading global, multidisciplined engineering and construction company to recruit a Graduate Mechanical Engineer. This contractor provides a wide range of construction services across infrastructure sectors, including rail, water, power, and natural resources.

Your new role

  • Assist in the design and installation of mechanical systems
  • Support the preparation of specifications and procurement of components
  • Contribute to technical reports and risk assessments
  • Use specialist software for design and simulation
  • Participate in site visits and liaise with project teams
Technical Exposure
  • Pumping systems, valves, pipework, and supports
  • Access platforms, bridges, and mechanical structures
  • Installation techniques using lifting equipment
  • Mechanical design calculations and documentation
What you'll need to succeed
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or nearing completion)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD/Revit is a plus
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Full Driving Licence
