This is an exciting opportunity for a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate to launch their career in a dynamic and supportive environment. Working on impactful water and wastewater projects across Northern Ireland and the UK, graduates will be mentored by Chartered Engineers and supported through a CPD programme accredited by Engineers Ireland. This role offers hands-on experience, technical development, and a clear path toward chartered status.

Your new company
Hays are working in partnership with a leading global, multidisciplined engineering and construction company to recruit a Graduate Mechanical Engineer. This contractor provides a wide range of construction services across infrastructure sectors, including rail, water, power, and natural resources.
Your new role
- Assist in the design and installation of mechanical systems
- Support the preparation of specifications and procurement of components
- Contribute to technical reports and risk assessments
- Use specialist software for design and simulation
- Participate in site visits and liaise with project teams
- Pumping systems, valves, pipework, and supports
- Access platforms, bridges, and mechanical structures
- Installation techniques using lifting equipment
- Mechanical design calculations and documentation
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or nearing completion)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD/Revit is a plus
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Full Driving Licence
