About the Role

In the Graduate Math Academic Mentor role, you will work closely with experienced teachers and support pupils in building their mathematical knowledge and confidence.

Typical Responsibilities

• Supporting learning across KS3 and KS4 maths lessons.
• Delivering targeted 1:1 and small group intervention sessions focused on numeracy and exam preparation.
• Assisting teachers with classroom activities and helping students stay engaged with learning.
• Providing additional support for pupils who may be struggling with key mathematical concepts.
• Helping prepare resources and monitor student progress where appropriate.
• Gaining valuable classroom experience while working as a Graduate Math Academic Mentor.

Candidate Profile

• A 2:1 degree or above in Mathematics or a closely related STEM subject.
• A strong interest in pursuing a career within teaching or education.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confidence supporting students and explaining mathematical ideas clearly.
• An enthusiastic and proactive approach in the Graduate Math Academic Mentor position.
• Prior experience in schools is not required, and full support will be provided to help you succeed in your Graduate Math Academic Mentor role.
