Are you a recent graduate looking to pursue a career working with children who have special educational needs Do you want to gain valuable practical experience before applying for your PGCE, Doctorate or PHD? This inclusive secondary SEND school in Birmingham is looking to appoint a Graduate Learning Support Assistant to provide academic support for pupils with additional learning needs, with a particular focus on literacy and numeracy development.

The Role
This is a highly rewarding position where no two days are the same. As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will work with students who require additional support to access learning, helping them overcome barriers that may impact their progress in the classroom. You will deliver structured literacy and numeracy interventions, support students during lessons, and help adapt learning activities to suit individual needs. Working closely with teaching staff, you'll play an important role in celebrating small successes and helping students develop confidence in their abilities.

The Candidate
The school is looking for a graduate who is compassionate, resilient, and motivated by the opportunity to support young people who learn differently. Graduates from Psychology, Education, English, Maths, Sociology, Criminology, and related subjects are encouraged to apply. This role would particularly suit somebody considering a future in SEND teaching, educational psychology, social work, or youth support services. You should be able to build positive relationships, remain calm under pressure, and have a genuine commitment to helping students achieve their goals.
