The Role
Graduates enrolled on this three year IET accredited scheme will have a dedicated mentor to help guide them throughout their training, leading towards a professional Chartered Engineer qualification (CEng) and, potentially, a future leadership role in the business.
Our Electrical Engineering team is responsible for the design and improvement of water and wastewater treatment facilities, delivering energy neutral designs and optimised solutions which feature high on the business agenda. You will benefit from working alongside technical experts and specialists who will share their breadth of expertise and experience covering all aspects of electrical, instrumentation, control and automation knowledge.

What will I be doing?
- Developing your knowledge of the wide range of electrical technologies we use, ranging from high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) power through to control system applications, and putting it into practice
- Developing an understanding of the interfaces with other engineering disciplines such as civil, hydraulic, process, mechanical and modelling.
- Supporting United Utilities' operational staff in optimising site production and lowering site spend.
- Working on a variety of projects from small scale improvements through to multimillion pound new build installations
- Gaining a broad spectrum of experience through placements across the engineering teams within United Utilities.
What do I need to be successful?
- We require our electrical engineer graduates to have a minimum 2:1 accredited degree in electrical or power engineering, or equivalent.
- An excellent communicator who can engage at all levels including written communication.
- An excellent team player.
- Full UK Driving Licence will be needed at the start of the scheme
