Main duties of the job

Providegeneral medical services, contraception services and maternity services for ourpatients.

Toprovide care for a designated list of patients, being their named Doctor.

Tooffer continuity of care through appropriate follow up, careful record keepingand liaison with Partners and other Associates.

Torefer patients to secondary care services appropriately, both for routine andemergency care.

Towork with all members of the primary care healthcare team in a supportive andconstructive manner to achieve the best possible care for patients.

We are part of a well-functioning Primary Care Network, Waterside PCN, delivering a high-quality Urgent Care Centre, a home visiting service, and an Enhanced Care Team. We benefit from excellent access to First Contact Physiotherapists, Mental Health Practitioners, Health and Wellbeing and Pharmacy teams, allowing GPs to focus on what they do best.

There are also genuine opportunities for the successful candidate to become involved in PCN leadership and senior roles, helping shape services across the network.

Job responsibilities

Theduties and responsibilities to be undertaken by GP Partner or Salaried GPs are varied andwill differ from time to time under the direction of the Partners and/or PracticeManager, dependent on current and evolving Practice workload and staffinglevels:

Providecare for a list size in the region of 1800 patients FTE. You will be theirnamed Doctor.

Attendall clinical team meetings, on average once or twice per month.

Managementof pathology and imaging results and associated tasks.

Completionof medicines management within appropriate time frame, i.e. prescriptions.

Appropriatemanagement of workflow regarding patients on your list.

Tosee 30 patients each full day

Carryout visits for your patient population. Visits will be allocated by the DutyDoctor and will take into account needs of all Doctors and GP trainees. Ifappropriate, it may be that a visit for your patient will be carried out by atrainee.

Alaptop and remote log-in will be provided in order foryou to carry out appropriate administrative tasks whilst away from the surgery.
