Go Developer

Go suits the parts of a system that handle a lot at once: APIs under load, feed processors, integration services and small tools that need to start fast and use little memory. Goroutines make concurrent work part of the language.

You will build microservices and cloud APIs in Gin, Fiber, Echo or the standard library, in Docker containers that are watched in production. We value Go a colleague can follow on the first read.

What you will be doing

• Build and maintain APIs and services in Go, with Gin, Fiber, Echo or the standard library.
• Write concurrent code that holds up under load: timeouts, cancellation, back-pressure.
• Process feeds and queues between client systems quickly and reliably.
• Handle every returned error, and log what someone will need at three in the morning.
• Review colleagues' code and have yours reviewed.

What you will need

• At least five years of commercial work in this field that you can show us. We promise clients that everyone on their project has that, so it is not negotiable.
• Go services you shipped and supported in production.
• A working grasp of goroutines, channels and the context package, including when not to use them.
• SQL you write yourself.
• Git in daily use.

Useful, not required

• Profiling with pprof.
• Docker, Linux and the basics of running what you build.
