Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities (FICC) Trading is a key revenue-generating division within Goldman Sachs. FICC Trading and Sales teams help the firm's global client base manage market volatility and financial risk through a broad range of instruments. This critical function supports both our clients and the firm by facilitating activity across the full spectrum of financial products - from high-volume, liquid flow products to highly customised structured solutions designed to meet clients' specific needs.

As an FICC Engineer, you will play a key role in developing software solutions that help institutional clients buy and sell financial instruments on liquidity venues around the world. You will design and implement innovative solutions that enable FICC Trading and Sales to manage risk, positions and P&L efficiently. We are looking for individuals who can embrace AI to design and build solutions, as well as integrate AI into trading workflows. You will work closely with internal clients across trading, sales, strategists and operations, and will be involved in every stage of the software development life cycle. Given the global nature of the business, you will also collaborate with counterparts in other regional offices, gaining exposure to different local markets and financial products.

Basic Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on programming experience in at least one language (Java / Python)
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and designing for performance
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with traders and salespeople

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Java or Python (5+ years)
• Experience in Slang/SecDB
• Experience in messaging middleware such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Experience in developing and testing distributed systems

Daily Activities:

• Engage with users to understand business workflows and define requirements.
• Implement new software solutions and enhancements to existing systems.
• Contribute to quality control, including code and design reviews.
• Provide L3 application support.
• Provide technical support to trading, sales and operations.
• Review incidents, identify root causes and define appropriate follow-up actions.
