GESH Fit Tester (ESTH)

An opportunity has arisen for a fit tester to join the IPC team as a fit testing co ordinator. The successful candidate must be passionate about safety, have good communication skills and pay attention to details. We are looking for someone with good time management and problem solving skills, who is computer literate, organised, able to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the jobCoordinating and delivering a fit testing service across the Trust and travelling to community and satellite sites as required. Ensuring that staff who are required to wear tight fitting respirators (re usable or single use) are fit tested as per Health and Safety Executive requirements, and inputting FFP3 face fit tests onto trust wide databases.
The post holder will provide high level comprehensive support to staff being mask fit tested, including adequacy and suitability of tight fitting masks, training on how to use face masks, hoods and other reusable respirators, and guidance on correct handling and storage of PPE. The role also involves managing fittesting databases and fit tester training.
About usThe role is full time, Monday - Friday across both the Epsom and St Helier sites (flexible working can be negotiable depending on the needs of the service).

The post holder will undertake other duties that are consistent with the responsibilities of the post and as directed by the Matron for Infection Prevention and Control. Person Specification Qualification and Training- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, with grades C or above in English and Maths.
- NVQ level 4 in business administration, customer service, healthcare support services or equivalent.
- Experience of working in an administrative, customer service, or patient focused role.
- Experience of working within a team, as well as autonomously.
- Experience of taking bookings and coordinating meetings and/or training sessions.
- Experience of working within the NHS.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload effectively and meet competing demands.
- Ability to work as a team member and on own initiative.
- Excellent record keeping and data entry skills.
- Highly developed use of Microsoft Office software with particularly well developed knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Willingness and ability to learn new systems, processes and ways of working.
- Excellent organisational skills.
