Geotechnical Engineer

Overview

Madisons are recruiting for a Geotechnical Engineer to get started on a permanent basis for a client of ours covering UK wide sites but based out of their Leicestershire Head Office.

Please note candidates must have prior Civils experience including Earthworks, Foundation Design and Retaining Wall Design

Candidates MUST be willing and able to commute to UK wide sites- Company Vehicle Provided

Responsibilities

• Liaising with both clients and internal teams for feasibility studies
• Mentoring and guiding more junior members of staff
• Leading the design work for multiple nationwide projects
• Some on site testing and investigation when required
• Engaging with clients and teams to develop geotechnical design solutions.
• Designing and analysing quay walls, ground improvement, piling, retaining structures, and pavements.
• Preparing GIRs, calculations, and technical specifications for international projects.
• Interpreting ground investigation data across varied geological contexts.
• Coordinating with global multidisciplinary teams for integrated designs.
• Supporting project delivery from feasibility through construction.
• Reviewing third-party and contractor designs.
• Conducting site visits, supervision, surveys, and inspections.

Requirements

• Candidates must have a strong background within Foundation Design, Earthworks, Shallow Mining Instability, Slope Stability and Retaining Wall Design
• In depth understanding of British Standards and Eurocodes
• Degree or equivalent in Geotechnical Engineering/Geology
• Chartered or pursuing chartership
