About the role:

A large, high performing secondary school in Huddersfield is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Teacher of Geography to join their team from September 2026. Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and delivering high quality Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Designing engaging schemes of work that reflect the national curriculum
• Using assessment data to track progress, identify gaps and adapt teaching
• Preparing students for GCSE examinations with clear, structured guidance
• Creating a positive classroom climate that promotes curiosity and resilience
• Contributing to fieldwork planning and wider departmental enrichment
• Collaborating with colleagues to share best practice and develop resources
• Maintaining strong communication with parents, carers and pastoral teams
• Upholding school policies, safeguarding standards and behaviour expectation

Pre requisites:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Strong subject knowledge in Geography, including KS4 curriculum content
• Experience teaching in a secondary school setting
• Ability to differentiate effectively for mixed ability groups
• Confident classroom management and a proactive, solution focused approach
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and student wellbeing
• A passion for Geography and a desire to inspire young people
