General Practitioner (Part Time)

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner experienced in Substance Misuse prescribing to join the team at HMP Doncaster, a Category B prison located in the Marshgate area of Doncaster.

HMP Doncaster is a Category B local resettlement prison situated in South Yorkshire, housing a male population of up to 1,145 individuals, approximately 200 of whom are young offenders aged years.

Hours and salary

Weekend and evening coverage on a rota basis, working around 20 hours per week.

Salary up to £125,693 pro rata per annum, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver first-class healthcare to a diverse group of patients.
• Provide clinical assessment, diagnosis and timely management decisions.
• Act as a specialist resource to other healthcare team members.
• Take an active role in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.

Qualifications - essential

• MBChB or MBBS.
• Registered on the GMC Register and on the GP Performers List.
• Evidence of annual appraisal and continuing professional development.
• Experience as a General Practitioner in community general practice.
• Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse.
• RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or willingness to undertake these qualifications.
