Job Description
Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our team at HMP Full Sutton. HMP Full Sutton is a busy category A and B men's prison in the village of Full Sutton in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The site supports around 560 men aged 21+ with a range of health conditions including a high number of complex needs. Within this role you will be delivering clinical sessions, segregation rounds and providing daily acute support within the main population and specialist units. We are looking for a General Practitioner who has a passion for working with patients who are disconnected from the healthcare service and who is keen to work as part of an established team.

Hours and Salary
  • Hours: 12 hrs / 3 sessions per week
  • AM session - 08:00 - 12:00
  • PM session - 12:00 - 16:00
  • Working: Monday, Thursday or Friday
  • Sessions can be worked across 2 or 3 days
  • Salary: This position is part-time role and you'll receive an annual salary up to £126,500 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Our General Practitioners are valued and respected members of the Prison Healthcare community. Your responsibilities will vary and include:

  • Deliver first class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, with opportunities to develop knowledge in areas beyond a typical practice or A&E environment
  • Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management
  • Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, supporting patients with active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities

Requirements
  • MBChB or MBBS
  • Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
  • Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
  • Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
  • RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications
