We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Altcourse, Category B men's prison and young offenders institution based in the Fazakerley area of Liverpool in Merseyside. Ideal applicants would be experienced general practitioners who have previously prescribed for and supporting patients with substance misuse needs. HMP Altcourse is a fast paced environment you will be working closely with a full multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality patient care.

Hours

8am-9pm Wednesday and Friday

2pm-6pm Saturday

Salary

This position is part time working a number of sessions, you'll receive an annual salary between £114,763 and £125,135 per annum FTE- depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

• Deliver first class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, and therefore as a General Practitioner at Practice Plus Group you get the opportunity to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn't usually experience within a practice, or even A&E environment.
• Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient's requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.
• Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.

Qualifications required

• MBChB or MBBS
• Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
• Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
• Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
• RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications
