General Practice Solicitor

About the Role:


We are recruiting a General Practice Solicitor for a well-established law firm in Cork, offering a diverse range of legal services to individual clients. This is a great opportunity for a solicitor to work in a general practice setting, with the ability to advise in multiple areas, including Personal Injuries, Medical Negligence, Wills and Probate, Conveyancing, and Family Law.

The successful candidate will join a supportive team with a strong reputation for providing high-quality legal services. The role offers a varied caseload, client-facing responsibilities, and the opportunity to develop expertise across multiple areas of law.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal Injuries: Advising clients on personal injury claims, including road traffic accidents, workplace injuries, and medical malpractice.

  • Medical Negligence: Providing legal support and advice in cases of medical negligence, including misdiagnosis, surgical errors, and other healthcare-related claims.

  • Wills and Probate: Handling estate administration, drafting wills, managing trusts, and advising clients on inheritance matters.

  • Conveyancing: Managing the sale and purchase of residential properties, including leasehold and freehold transactions, remortgaging, and title transfers.

  • Family Law: Advising clients on divorce, separation, child custody, and maintenance, including contentious and non-contentious matters.

  • Liaising with clients, third parties, and other professionals to ensure smooth and effective legal proceedings.

  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legal developments across all areas of practice.

The Person:

  • 1-4 years PQE in general practice law with experience in Personal Injuries, Medical Negligence, Wills and Probate, Conveyancing, and Family Law.

  • Strong client-facing skills with the ability to manage a diverse workload.

  • Excellent communication, drafting, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
