Job Description

We are looking for a Reception Supervisor to join our existing reception team.

Key Responsibilities

The Reception Supervisor role is primarily to provide supervision to the practice reception team.

The post holder will work closely with another Reception Supervisor to provide continuous improvement of standards across a wide range of clinical and administrative activities, as well as serving as a point of cover or advice in the event of their absence.

Responsible for:

  • Providing leadership to the reception and administration team.
  • Ensuring the reception and administrative duties are completed to the highest standard.
  • Planning and managing the reception and clinical staff rota, including monitoring attendance, absence and annual leave.
  • Managing the reception and patient communication, including handling queries, complaints and phone calls.
  • Supporting induction of new reception and administration staff.
  • Maintaining and updating practice policies and procedures.
  • Assisting with compliance with CQC, Health and Safety audits and other regulatory requirements.
  • Recording and managing home visit requests and other care coordination tasks.
  • Providing training and support for IT systems and other practice software.
  • Promoting equality, diversity, health and safety and ensuring compliance with relevant policies.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and complying with the Data Protection Act and Caldicott principles.
Qualifications
  • GCSE grade A-C in English and Maths.
  • Qualification to A-level or NVQ Level 3.
Experience
  • Experience of working in a GP practice.
  • Experience supervising or managing staff.
Skills and Competence
  • Strong IT skills and proficiency with clinical software.
  • Excellent communication, customer service and organisational skills.
  • Analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Confidence, friendly and approachable manner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Full clean driving licence with own transport.
