General Operative

At Panda, Ireland's largest waste management business, we're looking for reliable, hard-working people to join our operations team.

This is a hands on role where you'll support the safe and efficient collection, movement and handling of waste and recycling materials. You'll be working outdoors, as part of a close knit team, helping to deliver an essential service to our customers and communities.

As a General Operative Support at Panda, you'll play an important part in keeping our services running smoothly. The work is physical, fast paced and practical, so we're looking for someone dependable, safety focused and willing to get stuck in.

What you'll be doing

• Collect and return customers' bins along designated routes safely and efficiently
• Work outdoors with early starts and early finishes
• Load and unload vehicles safely
• Move, stack and handle materials in line with correct storage and safety practices
• Support warehouse and yard operations where required
• Carry out general housekeeping duties to keep work areas clean, safe and organised
• Inspect equipment and report any faults, damage or wear and tear
• Follow all Health & Safety regulations, site rules and company procedures
• Represent Panda professionally when dealing with customers and members of the public
• Work effectively as part of a busy team, while also being able to use your own initiative
• Develop your skills in the use of loaders and material handling equipment where required
• Complete any other reasonable duties assigned by your manager

About you

• Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual work
• Previous manual labour experience is required
• Own transport is required
• Good command of the English language
• Reliable, trustworthy and dependable
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Able to work without constant supervision
• Friendly, professional and safety conscious

Full training will be provided. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a practical, hands on role with a business that plays a key part in environmental services and resource recovery across Ireland.
