Job Description

GENERAL OPERATIVE Salary: £33,158.40 per Annum Working Hours: 42 hours average (12 hour shifts, 4 on 4 off shift rotation) Location: Cheltenham Are you a proactive, resourceful individual with strong hands-on skills looking for a secure and structured career?

About the Role: As a General Operative you will operate to deliver both planned and reactive maintenance tasks as allocated by the shift supervisor, responding to all incidents swiftly to minimise business disruption.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing on-site contractors.
  • Performing planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Responding to defects, faults, and client requests.
  • Maintaining records and producing simple reports.
  • Identifying material requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining contact with client representatives.
  • Adhering to security policies.
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Practical Skills: Proven handy person skills (DIY/semi-skilled level) and previous experience in general Facilities Management (FM) or maintenance work.
  • Communication & IT: Strong English language skills, basic IT knowledge (email, calendar), and familiarity with Word and Excel.
  • Security Requirement: The ability to pass the DV security clearance process.
