Job Description
General Manager - Food (Multi Site)

We are looking for a high impact General Manager to lead our food laboratory operations across two key sites in Trowbridge and Sittingbourne. This senior leadership role carries full responsibility for operational performance, people, and P&L, and involves shaping site strategy, driving continuous improvement, and delivering exceptional service to our clients.

Location & Travel

This is a multi site role requiring regular presence at both the Trowbridge and Sittingbourne laboratories. The successful candidate will operate across locations, managing time and teams effectively at both sites.

Day to Day
  • Lead and develop high performing laboratory teams across both sites
  • Take full ownership of site performance, including P&L, KPIs, and service delivery
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality
  • Build strong client relationships and support business growth opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards (ISO 17025) and regulatory requirements
  • Promote a strong health & safety culture and embed best practice
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders across the business to align on strategy and performance
  • Develop and deliver site business plans and report on progress
  • Lead across two strategically important sites
  • Exercise real ownership and autonomy to shape performance and culture
  • Make a visible impact at a senior level
Essentials
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a laboratory or regulated environment
  • Strong track record of P&L ownership and delivering against commercial targets
  • Experience managing large, multi disciplinary teams
  • Ability to drive performance, KPIs, and continuous improvement
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 17025 and ISO 9001
  • Comfortable working across multiple locations with regular travel
  • Full UK driving licence
