Reporting to the CEO, we are looking for a General Manager to lead our hotel and its team to success.
LocationThe Imperial Torquay is a magnificent 19th Century 152 bedroom Victorian four star hotel offering breathtaking sea views and a host of leisure facilities. It is a short walk from the main train station and town centre, making it easily accessible for employees. The hotel provides staff car parking and free use of its gym and swimming pools.

Responsibilities- Provide day to day leadership driving the business strategy across all areas of the operation within a seasonal environment.
- Apply experience in all areas of hotel operations - from housekeeping and F&B to guest experience and leisure facilities - to refine operations and promote service excellence.
- Drive sales and revenue, balancing costs to meet business targets.
- Maintain a charismatic, engaging and people centric leadership style, staying closely connected with the team.
- Use strong commercial skills to analyse information and make sound decisions.
- Analyse and manage the hotel P&L to achieve success.
- Employ strong IT skills and effectively use digital platforms such as Opera, Procure Wizard, and Fourth & Harri.
- Lead and develop a high performing HOD team, ensuring day to day operations run smoothly.
- Collaborate with central support teams (marketing, revenue, sales, finance & HR) to implement group strategies while driving local activity.
- Manage changes, capital projects and refurbishments.
- Oversee seasonal hotel property operations.
- Previous experience as a General Manager in a similar style property.
- Proven RevPAR and EBITDA performance record.
- Experience in driving change.
- Exposure to leading capital projects or refurbishment.
- Experience managing seasonal hotel properties.
