Robinsons Brewery is thrilled to welcome the George & Dragon, Holmes Chapel into our managed pub family - and we're on the lookout for a standout General Manager to lead this local gem through its next exciting phase.

From January 2026, you will take over the George & Dragon in its current form, guiding it through a smooth transition and making your mark right away. Then, at the end of Summer 2026, we'll begin a full refurbishment to elevate this iconic venue into something truly special - and you'll be at the heart of shaping its future.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a well-loved, community-focused pub with loyal regulars and a strong reputation, while also preparing for an exciting reinvention backed by the heritage, investment, and support of Robinsons Brewery.

The Role

As General Manager, you'll take full ownership of the business - leading from the front, bringing fresh ideas, and ensuring the George & Dragon continues to deliver exceptional hospitality while preparing for an exciting transformation.

You'll be responsible for:

• Overseeing all day-to-day operations: food, drink, team, and events
• Delivering exceptional service and memorable guest experiences
• Recruiting, training, and inspiring a high-performing team
• Managing budgets, P&L, and performance targets
• Driving food and drink sales through creative promotions and marketing
• Embedding the pub in the local community and growing its reputation

About You

We're looking for someone who's passionate, energetic, and ready to lead a pub that's loved by its locals - and soon to be relaunched for an even brighter future.

You'll bring:

• Experience running a busy, food-led pub or hospitality venue
• Strong leadership and team development skills
• A passion for seasonal food, quality drinks, and stand out service
• A commercial mindset with a flair for promotions and events
• Excellent understanding of compliance, stock control, and the P&L
• A desire to be part of a long term project and make a real impact
