General Manager London Absolutely Permanent

Salary: £55,000-£62,000

Hours: 40 hours, Monday to Friday

Location: Absolutely London

What will I be doing?

You will support theHead of Same Day Operations to deliver a 'Best in Business', 'Operational Excellence' and 'Partner of Choice' business unit/region whilst delivering all financial, commercial and people targets. You will own the operational and commercial success of your Service Centre by creating an environment that champions customer experience through continuous improvement and innovation, delivering the values and engagement plans that drive performance and growth of the business.

The main responsibilities within the General Manager role are:
  • Lead, manage and inspire within your Service Centre. You will have full operational and commercial responsibility to deliver all business key strategic objectives and continued growth of your sites revenue and profits whilst continuously seeking out opportunities for improvement to client retention, operational efficiencies, customer pipeline and team development in line with EBITDA targets.
  • Demonstrating the core values of the business you will support in the delivery of the business goals, growth, SLA and GM performance while creating an engaged team with clear robust succession plan.
  • You will support the Head of Courier in managing and engaging couriers by implementing the business's strategic approach to courier management. This includes ensuring accountability within the Service Centre. You will demonstrate clear management and control Service Centre depot scorecard, where the team is held accountable for performance metrics according to agreed internal service level agreement.
  • You will ensure that all Service Centres are safe, compliant and achieve internal standards by driving compliance and security performance working with the Head of Compliance and associated teams.
Skills needed for a General Manager:
  • Previous success of managing a site / regional P&L to increase EBITDA, revenue and margin growth in line with your agreed budget.
  • Previous experience of identifying and successfully targeting new opportunities for growth through new sector development or acquisition opportunities.
  • Consistently reviews and develops operational processes to enable stability through growth.
  • Proven proficiency of creating, analysing and disseminating clear and concise operational reports and actively contributing in Senior Manager meetings; conferences; client meetings and events.
  • Decrease the attrition of customers through strong relationship management with customers, Account Management and Operational teams.
  • Lead a successful team that is empowered to succeed and develop to create a culture of pride of CitySprint.
  • Identifies and collaborates with all business stakeholders to deliver cross functional optimization.
  • Works collaboratively with peers ensuring synergies are developed and best practice is shared across the business.
  • Demonstrate successful financial management of all operational service centres in a customer focused environment.
  • Proven success in managing and exceeding budget targets.
  • Previous experience of successful team management through mentoring and development.
  • Working knowledge of full Microsoft office suite.
  • Proven success in client implementation programmes and client exit management preserving a positive corporate reputation.
  • Pro-actively reviews and monitors ways of working to ensure best practice, streamline processes to maximise efficiency and enhance customer experience.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures.
  • Actively reviews and challenges process to promote innovation and optimisation across all operational functions.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and have strong organizational skills to prioritize in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to identify key data sources and analyse data effectively to improve operational and margin performance or to support business decisions.
  • Demonstrates effective time management skills and meets deadlines.
  • Dedicated to the success of peers and demonstrates willingness to develop and mentor to create effective succession plans.
