About the Company:
Our client is a recognised name in the local food production industry, offering a diverse product portfolio that includes traditional bakery goods and health-focused prepared food ranges. With a move into a new, purpose-built production facility scheduled within the next 12 months, this is an ideal time to join a business investing heavily in its infrastructure, people, and future.

The Role - Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership

• Work closely with ownership to define and implement operational strategy
• Lead cross-functional teams across production, technical, commercial, HR, and supply chain
• Ensure alignment of daily operations with overall company objectives

Operational Oversight

• Manage day-to-day operations across two core business units
• Oversee production planning, inventory control, and supplier management
• Track and manage key KPIs - implementing changes where performance gaps exist

Team & Culture

• Lead and support a growing team of department heads, supervisors, and frontline staff
• Promote a positive, accountable and high-performance culture
• Drive workforce planning, development and succession strategies

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure all production meets BRC, HACCP and internal quality standards
• Act as senior point of contact for audits and external regulatory inspections
• Work closely with the technical and H&S teams to uphold site-wide compliance

Commercial & Financial Performance

• Manage site budgets and cost control measures
• Support sales and marketing functions in delivering commercial targets
• Identify and act on areas for margin improvement and operational efficiency

Innovation & Expansion

• Drive process improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
• Support the planning and successful transition into a new production facility
• Encourage innovation in both product development and operational systems (e.g., ERP)

Your essential ingredients:

• Proven experience in a General Manager, Operations Director, or Senior Site Lead role within a food manufacturing environment
• Strong leadership capabilities across people, production, and commercial functions
• Detailed knowledge of food safety, quality systems, and industry regulations (HACCP, BRCGS etc.)
• Commercial acumen with experience managing budgets and improving profitability
• Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
• ERP or data-driven systems experience advantageous
• Relevant degree in Business, Food Production or related field (preferred)
