General Manager - Clee Hill - Reporting to:Aggregates Director Salary £60,000 - £65,000 plus bonus, Clee Hill - Hybrid, Company Car
Are you a strategic leader with a passion for operational excellence and commercial success? We're looking for aGeneral Managerto take full ownership of our Clee Hill operations, driving performance, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Purpose of the RoleAs General Manager, you will be responsible for the operating profit, sales, costs, operations, and safety of the business. You'll lead a dedicated team of commercial and operational professionals to deliver outstanding results and best-in-class customer service.
We're openly seeking someone with acommercial bias-someone who thrives on driving profitability and market share-and who bringsproven experience managing operational sites.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Management
- Inspire and lead a high-performing team, ensuring alignment with commercial and operational goals.
- Develop and implement business plans to meet targets for sales volume, pricing, and profitability.
- Ensure the site is efficiently resourced and staff are trained for long-term success.
- Maintain strong market awareness and manage customer portfolios to support growth.
- Drive production efficiency and quality at optimal cost.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and company standards.
Business & Resource Planning
- Develop and implement annual business plans to meet sales, pricing, and profitability targets.
- Ensure the team is well-resourced, trained, and developed for long-term success.
- Manage customer portfolio to support market share growth.
Operations & Business Management
- Maintain strong market and competitor insight.
- Drive production efficiency and quality at optimal cost.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless logistics and customer service.
- Monitor KPIs and identify profit-enhancing opportunities.
Compliance & Safety
- Uphold environmental, health, and safety standards in line with company and legal requirements.
- Champion continuous improvement in operational efficiency and compliance.

Financial & Team Scope
- Gross Sales: £6m
- Return Contribution Objective (RCO): 16% of sales
- Fixed Cost Budget: £1m
- Capex Budget: £0.25m
- Team: 12 direct reports + 10 contractors
- Annual Sales/Production: 300kT (2025)
