This is a fantastic opportunity for a first-time appointment! The Old Red Lion is a Portobello success story, and we need a GM who can continue to grow sales. It is located conveniently near Elephant & Castle overground and Kennington underground stations. The business has re-established itself within the local community and has a lovely mix of regulars who genuinely want us to be busy.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to run a proper pub! We have a solid kitchen team and the ambition to serve growing food sales of up to £5k per week.

Our General Managers work closely with the operations team to manage "their" business.

We ask that you lead and inspire your team from the front, finding innovative ways to delight your guests. You will ensure that each guest receives the greatest hospitality and that every piece of food and drink served is of the highest quality.

You will work closely with your management team, including your head chef, to pair the finest food with the drinks offer and create an inviting atmosphere that is the heart of every shift.

You will be fully responsible for the pub's P&L, so converting sales into profit is key. Attention to detail is essential to ensure a memorable guest journey from start to finish.

You will be at the forefront of training your team, with a genuine passion to develop future stars and advance your business. We believe in developing a strong bench and having a succession plan to reduce recruitment needs and to nurture our people into the next Portobello General Managers.
