Job Title: GCSE Maths & English Tutor Oldham Location: Oldham (community-based or in-home sessions) Pay Rate: GBP25 per hour (starting rate) Job Type: Part-Time Flexible Hours About the Role Prospero Teaching is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced tutor to deliver GCSE Maths and English lessons on a 1:1 basis to students in the Oldham area, starting in March 2026. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping students develop their academic skills, build confidence, and achieve their full potential in GCSEs. Key Responsibilities Deliver personalised GCSE Maths and English lessons, adapting content and pace to meet the needs of each student. Support students in improving their understanding of the subjects, honing study techniques, and building exam confidence. Establish a positive, supportive learning environment and foster strong rapport with students. Track student progress and provide constructive feedback to parents, carers, or relevant professionals. Create structured learning plans, applying a flexible and adaptive teaching approach as required. Essential Requirements Minimum 1 year of experience in teaching or tutoring Maths and/or English. Right to work in the UK. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain). Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule. Desirable Qualifications QTS or PGCE in Secondary Education. Experience working with students with SEN (Autism, ADHD, SEMH). Additional Information Sessions are generally held during school hours, with some after-school or evening availability.
