Gardener Full Time, 50 acre Country House

We are seeking a dedicated full-time gardener to maintain and enhance a spectacular and pristine 50-acre private estate located near the scenic village of Puckane.

The property requires high standards of estate management, blending formal gardens, expansive lawns, and mature woodlands.

Key Responsibilities

• Estate Maintenance: Execute seasonal planning, lawn care, hedge trimming, and weed control across the 50-acre grounds.
• Planting & Pruning: Cultivate, prune, and care for ornamental borders, roses, shrubs, and mature trees.
• Machinery Management: Safely operate, clean, and perform routine maintenance on estate machinery (ride-on mowers, strimmers, tractors).
• Hard Landscaping: Maintain paths, driveways, stonework, and estate water features.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience Level: Experienced estate gardeners are preferred, but we are highly willing to consider candidates with less experience if they demonstrate an eagerness to learn and hold excellent professional references.
• Passion: A genuine, deep passion for gardening and the outdoor environment.
• Attention to Detail: Excellent eye for detail to keep the 50-acre grounds in pristine, showroom condition.
• Location: Based within a 45-minute drive of Puckane (e.g., Nenagh, Roscrea, Thurles, Birr, or parts of Limerick/Laois).
• Transport: Full clean driving license and access to your own reliable car.
• Tree Surgery: Experience in tree surgery, chainsaw operation, or arboriculture is a distinct advantage.
• Strong horticultural knowledge (plant identification, soil health, and pest management).
• Ability to work independently and proactively to maintain the estate to the highest standards.
• Valid Safe Pass.
• Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in varying Irish weather conditions.
