Job Description

Life at GDI - Creating a world free of disinformation and its harms.

Disinformation has become a business. Today's internet business models reward engagement above all else. These models monetize attention without considering the quality of the content or the harm that may result. There is a growing community of industry, policy, and civil society advocates pressing for reform, all needing data to inform their actions.

The Global Disinformation Index was established in 2018 as a not-for-profit organization based on the three pillars of neutrality, independence, and transparency. It provides transparent, independent disinformation risk ratings across the open web.

At GDI, you'll be surrounded by passionate, expert, and collaborative individuals committed to our mission.

We value the following behaviours:

  • Positivity : Problem solver, not problem raiser.
  • Responsibility : Make it your problem - if it's not right, fix it.
  • Trustworthiness : Dependability - if you say you will do it, do it.
  • Respect : Treat everyone with courtesy and respect, especially those with whom we disagree.

GDI is seeking a motivated Fundraising Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, curious, and adaptable.

This role involves leading key fundraising activities, working closely with leadership to grow income through trust and foundation fundraising, individual giving, partnerships, and new revenue streams.

The Fundraising Manager will support the CEO in attracting new funding sources and managing relationships with existing funders.

Essential Experience and Behaviours
  • 2-3 years' experience in fundraising or development, preferably in non-profit or charity sectors.
  • Ability to work independently and own projects.
  • Organized, reliable, results-driven, and numerate.
  • Excellent writing skills and published materials.
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills.
  • Open to feedback and iterative work approach.
  • Effective coordination across teams.
  • Understanding of values-led fundraising and donor stewardship.
  • Knowledge of audience development, benchmarking, and data tracking.

  • Experience with CRM or donor databases.
  • Building partnerships with corporates or major donors.
Terms
  • Location: Remote, preferably UK-based.
  • Salary: Competitive, based on location.
  • Hours: Flexible, part-time (0.4-0.6 FTE, 15-22.5 hours/week).
