Pay: £34,000.00 - £35,560.00 per year

Job description:

We are looking for a dedicated Functional Skills Tutor to deliver engaging English and Maths sessions, supporting young people to gain the qualifications and life skills they need for further education, employment, and independence.

In this role, you will be both a teacher and a mentor helping learners re-engage with education and achieve meaningful progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver High-Quality Teaching
• Plan and deliver engaging Functional Skills English and Maths lessons (Entry Level 1 to Level 2)
• Adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs, including SEND
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Prepare learners for assessments and exams

Support Progress and Achievement

• Monitor and track learner progress and attainment
• Use data to identify gaps and deliver targeted interventions
• Maintain accurate records, attendance, and assessment data
• Support learners to achieve their qualifications

Build Positive Relationships

• Develop strong, supportive relationships with learners
• Motivate and re-engage those who may have had negative experiences of education
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support learner outcomes
• Contribute to a safe, respectful, and inclusive culture

Additional Information

This role may include other duties in line with the level of responsibility. Priorities will be reviewed through performance management.
