We have a unique employee model designed to support your personal and professional growth while also providing a flexible schedule. Unlike subcontracting positions, which pay a higher hourly rate but only compensate you for billable hours and do not pay you for stat holidays or vacation time, with our employee model, you have a starting wage of $50/hour with guaranteed full time hours plus the following:

All new employees have a 3-month salaried training period with guaranteed full hours. This allows therapists to engage in in house training programs while gradually building their caseloads.

Following the training period, therapists are guaranteed full time hours.

We pay our therapists on an hourly basis to allow for a flexible schedule, letting our therapists balance work with other life commitments and activities.

There are also many opportunities to develop both clinically and in leadership allowing for advancement within the company across your career with us. Meridian is an employee owned, multi disciplinary company that has been providing occupational therapy services for over twenty years with sites in Penticton, Kelowna, Vernon, Kamloops, Vancouver and Galway, Ireland.

Position Summary

We are currently looking for Occupational Therapists to join our team in Kelowna and Kamloops. As a community private practice Occupational Therapist with Meridian Rehabilitation, you will work with clients to maximize their functional abilities and enhance their quality of life. We are currently looking for full time therapists interested in an adult caseload or a mix of adult with some LTC and peds. At Meridian we work with clients across a wide range of practice areas including neurorehabilitation, mental health, physical rehabilitation, ergonomics, return to work services, pediatrics, long term care, driving assessment and rehabilitation, and functional capacity evaluations.

New Graduates Welcome

We understand that starting your career as a new graduate can be both exciting and overwhelming. We offer a thorough three month training program to all new staff to ensure you are fully prepared and confident in your role. Following the training period, you will continue to have support from mentors and leaders as well as paid time to continue to develop your skills and thrive in community private practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients' current abilities and functional goals
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that align with clients' goals and funder's parameters
  • Implement therapeutic interventions in clinic, homes, and community, to improve physical, emotional, and cognitive functions
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
  • Maintain up to date documentation including reports required by our funders
