FTTH Project Manager (Dutch Speaking)

What the Project Is About

This mission focuses on managing the end-to-end rollout of Fiber to the Home (FTTH) infrastructure across the Brussels region. As Project Manager, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of large-scale fiber deployments, ensuring compliance with local regulations, operational excellence, and timely execution. This role is critical to expanding next-generation broadband infrastructure and will involve close collaboration with public authorities, contractors, and internal teams.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Leadership & Team Management
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams including field engineers, planners, and subcontractors. Provide clear direction, facilitate training where needed, and foster a culture of accountability and goal achievement.
• Stakeholder Coordination & Communication
• Build and maintain effective communication channels with municipalities, subcontractors, utility providers, and internal technical teams. Ensure expectations are aligned and challenges are addressed proactively.
• Permit Management & Regulatory Compliance
• Oversee and manage permitting processes via GIPOD, Geopunt, and Eaglebe platforms. Ensure compliance with regional and municipal infrastructure requirements.
• Telecom Construction Oversight
• Leverage your expertise in fiber optics and telecom infrastructure to coordinate trenching, cabling, splicing, and final commissioning. Monitor progress against the master plan and adjust when needed to meet deadlines.
• Standards Enforcement (SB250)
• Guarantee full adherence to Standaardbestek 250 (SB250) and applicable Belgian public works standards throughout the entire project lifecycle.
• Geospatial Data & Big Data Management
• Use tools such as ArcGIS or QGIS to consolidate geospatial datasets, monitor construction zones, and manage route visualizations. Leverage big data insights to drive project reporting and optimization.
• Progress Reporting & Escalation Management
• Prepare regular progress updates for internal and external stakeholders. Proactively identify risks, delays, or deviations, and propose corrective measures to keep projects on track.

Requirements for the Candidate

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience managing telecom or FTTH infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record in construction-driven project management within wired telecom networks.
• Strong familiarity with GIPOD, Geopunt, and Eaglebe.
• Sound understanding of SB250 regulatory standards.
• Proficient in ArcGIS or QGIS for mapping and route optimization.
• Experience handling multi-stakeholder environments, including municipal and civil partners.
• Excellent written and spoken fluency in Dutch and English.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Background in cybersecurity, networking, or data center lifecycle projects is a plus.
• Familiarity with big data tools for KPI tracking or predictive project analytics.
• Certification in PMI, PRINCE2, or Agile PM is considered an asset.
