Position Description

The Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit in CGI is a true IT Systems Integrator. CGI seeks a Frontend JavaScript Engineer to join an exciting new programme (BOREALIS) on a full-time permanent basis.

Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need UK Security Clearance or be eligible for it. The role is hybrid, based in Leatherhead.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Are you a self-motivated front-end engineer passionate about transforming complex scientific and engineering data into engaging, user-friendly interfaces? CGI's Secure Space Systems is expanding rapidly, and we're looking for an experienced JavaScript developer to join our team. You will work on projects ranging from prototyping to full-scale agile developments in Space Situational Awareness, Space Domain Awareness, and Command & Control.

What You'll Do:

• Develop Engaging Interfaces: Create high-quality user experiences using JavaScript, Angular, TypeScript, CSS, and HTML5.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work with cross-functional teams in agile environments (Scrum, SAFe, DevSecOps).
• Present Complex Data: Turn intricate scientific data into intuitive, visually appealing interfaces.
• Innovate in a Fast-Paced Environment: Engage with diverse projects, learn new technologies, and contribute to cutting-edge space solutions.

Required qualifications

• Strong experience in JavaScript, Angular, TypeScript, CSS, and HTML5.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset with a love for learning.
• Experience with Angular 12+ and Bootstrap, and modern JavaScript tools.

Highly Desirable Skills:

• Back-End Exposure: Java experience is highly desirable.

Additional Assets:

• Familiarity with Astro Space UX Design System.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of big data tech (HBase, Hadoop), machine learning frameworks (Spark), or orbit dynamics is a plus.
