Fresh Food Manager

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Position.

Location: Southern Cross, Bray

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're currently looking for a Fresh Food Manager to lead and oversee our fresh food departments. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong retail experience, a hands on approach, and a passion for delivering high standards across fresh food, stock management, merchandising, food safety, and customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee the day to day operation of all fresh food departments, ensuring high standards of service, merchandising, and food quality.
• Deliver sales, profit, waste, labour, and other agreed KPI targets in line with business objectives.
• Manage stock control, budgets, wage costs and departmental costs to maximise profitability.
• Lead, motivate, coach, and develop the fresh food team, creating a positive and high performing work environment.
• Review Fresh chargehands annually carrying out regular performance reviews and annual appraisals.
• Hold regular team meetings to communicate business updates, objectives, and new initiatives.
• Participate with the Store Manager on people management, operational performance, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure excellent customer service by resolving customer queries professionally and efficiently.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, health and safety, and all company policies and procedures.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Previous experience managing fresh food departments in a retail environment
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
• Ability to motivate and lead a team in a fast paced environment
• Good knowledge of stock control, merchandising, and waste management
• Excellent understanding of food safety and HACCP procedures
• A customer focused approach with a commitment to quality and freshness
• Ability to work flexibly and effectively under pressure
