We're looking for a Fraud Strategy Lead to join our mission to make money work better for millions of customers. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of protecting our customers and Zopa from fraud, while ensuring a seamless, human experience.
You will lead our fraud prevention strategy across our product ecosystem - from current accounts and loans to savings, credit cards, and car finance, via our mobile banking app and web platform. This is your chance to shape how a modern bank approaches fraud in a digital world.
As our Fraud Strategy Lead, you'll work directly with our Director of Fraud to develop and implement our fraud defense strategy, safeguarding our customers and supporting business growth.
A day in the life:- Strategic Leadership: Design and deliver effective fraud prevention strategies that balance security with customer experience.
- Maintain our fraud risk framework, ensuring compliance with budgets and supporting growth.
- Advise stakeholders on emerging trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices as Zopa's fraud expert.
- Support new product and process rollouts.
- Cross-functional Impact: Collaborate with Product, Tech, Operations, and Risk teams to embed fraud prevention into all aspects of our offerings.
- Translate fraud insights into actionable strategies and controls.
- Build industry partnerships to stay at the forefront of fraud prevention.
- Hands-on Delivery: Analyze fraud performance across products, identify risks, and develop improvement roadmaps.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify threats and opportunities for enhancement.
- Ensure compliance with current and future regulatory requirements, including accurate reporting.
About you:
- You are a fraud prevention expert who enjoys solving complex problems and turning challenges into opportunities.
- You have a proven track record in defining and delivering fraud strategies across various fraud types, including account takeover and authorized push payment fraud.
- You have experience in financial services or consultancy, with deep fraud detection expertise.
- You possess strong analytical skills and can communicate insights effectively.
- You excel in stakeholder management and navigating priorities.
- You enjoy working collaboratively across teams.
- You can explain technical fraud concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- You have experience optimizing operational processes.
- You are passionate about protecting customers while providing excellent experiences.
We're on the move!
By the end of 2025, Zopa will relocate to a new headquarters at 20 Water Street, Canary Wharf, fostering collaboration and creativity for our 900 employees during our growth phase.
Flexible working:
We value face-to-face collaboration and work-life balance. This hybrid role requires coming to our London office 2-3 days a week. You can also work from abroad up to 120 days a year, subject to right to work in the country.
