Job Description: As the Founding Engineer at Xylo, you will tackle a trillion-dollar problem by building AI-powered tools that modernize local government planning. Working directly with co-founders, you will ship features end-to-end using a modern stack including React, Supabase, and LLMs, transforming how councils deliver critical housing and infrastructure projects across the UK.

What you will do

• Build and deploy new features end-to-end, from initial concept through to full production deployment using React, TypeScript, and Supabase.

• Collaborate directly with customers to iterate on AI-driven products like Core and Patch, ensuring high accuracy through domain frameworks and human-in-the-loop evals.

• Shape the engineering culture and technical architecture while leveraging LLMs to automate research, validation checks, and report generation for local councils.

The ideal candidate

• 4+ years of professional full-stack experience with a proven track record of shipping 0 to 1 products in fast-paced startup environments.

• Highly product-focused with a deep curiosity for user problems and an interest in applying AI/LLMs to solve complex, real-world public sector challenges.

• Comfortable with ambiguity and ownership, ideally possessing an unconventional background or a history of taking meaningful career risks to build impactful technology.
