Fostering Support Worker
Posted 5 days 11 hours ago by Hampshire County Council
The focus of the Fostering Support Worker is to support Supervising Social Workers in their role. This may be completing foster carer supervisions, Back Up Carers assessments and conduct unannounced visits to foster carers. You will maintain up-to-date statutory checks on foster carers, update case summaries and chronologies. There is also the opportunity to work with Staying Put carers who continue to support young people post eighteen and help facilitate foster carer support groups and training.
You may be expected to case hold and supervise foster carers and will be expected to cover a duty phone line when required and respond to calls which may include the need for a visit to support a foster carer. You will need to be able to produce high quality, analytical and reflective assessment work.
You will also lead the foster carer support groups.
Flexibility in working hours is sometimes required. This means you may need to work outside of standard business hours on occasion. However, with support from your manager, you will be able to adjust your working pattern to make sure it fits your home life and still meet the needs of the carers you may be working with.
We are a motivated and supportive team and as such, you will be encouraged to make the most of our commitment to flexible working arrangements, which includes the chance to work from home and within the office environment.
As you will be working with families across a large geographical area, you must also be able to meet the travel requirements of the role and be prepared to travel within this role.
We seek the best talent from the widest pool of people as diversity is key to our success. Therefore, if you are enthusiastic and creative with the commitment to help turn lives around, we would be delighted to welcome you to our friendly and inclusive team.
As a successful candidate, you will have knowledge and experience of Children's Social Care, Child Development and Looked After Children.
