Forklift Mechanic

Our client are a supplier of forklifts, scissor lifts and cherry pickers who are recruiting a skilled mechanic to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for routine preventative maintenance, repairs and pre-delivery inspections & prep of new equipment.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong mechanical and electrical expertise, combined with hands-on experience in equipment repair and fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on forklifts
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using schematics and diagnostic tools
• Repair or replace faulty components using hand tools, power tools, welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques
• Assist with assembly of parts or equipment modifications to improve performance or safety standards
• Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities in accordance with company procedures
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards

Qualifications

• Proven experience in equipment repair with a focus on forklifts or similar machinery
• Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience
• Experience in assembly, maintenance programmes, and troubleshooting
