Coventry City Council Temporary Assignment via Opus People Solutions
Pay Rate: £13.05 per hour PAYE
Location: Whitley Depot, Coventry, CV3 4AR
Workers required: 4
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 7.5 hours per day (30 minute unpaid lunch). Friday: 7 hours per day (30 minute unpaid lunch). Occasional Saturdays may be required and are paid at time and a half.
Shift patterns will vary depending on the needs of the service. Earliest start time: 6:00am. Latest finish time: 4:45pm. Shift patterns will be discussed during interview.
Successful candidates will be rota'd directly by Coventry City Council.
PPE: PPE will be provided by Coventry City Council. Candidates must provide their own safety boots.
About the RoleOpus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of Coventry City Council for Food Waste Refuse Collectors to support the rollout and collection of food waste bins across the city. This is a physically demanding outdoor role working as part of a team to deliver an essential environmental service. You will be responsible for collecting food waste bins from residential properties, ensuring collection routes are completed safely and efficiently while delivering a high standard of service to residents.
Key Responsibilities- Collect food waste bins from residential properties across Coventry.
- Work as part of a collection crew to complete daily rounds safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures.
- Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with residents.
- Report any collection issues or operational concerns.
- Support the team in maintaining a clean, safe and professional service.
- 18 years old and over due to insurances policies.
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Physically fit and comfortable undertaking manual handling duties.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong team player with a positive attitude.
- Good awareness of health and safety practices.
- Previous experience in waste collection, recycling, environmental services, labouring or other manual outdoor roles.
