Salary: $18,370 - $22,963 (Permanent Part Time - 32 hours bi-weekly)

The Food Services Supervisor is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents through the strong leadership and motivation of Sienna team members.
Responsibilities- Consult with the home's dietitian as necessary on operational and clinical issues.
- Supervise food and drink production, including purchasing, receiving, inventory control and implementation of production sheets.
- Assist in ensuring the Dietary Department operates in compliance with provincial long term care legislation and other relevant legislation (Occupational Health and Safety, Ontario Labour Act, Union agreements, Human Rights Code, Public Health legislation).
- Ensure the recommended menu package is followed.
- Ensure invoices are approved and sent to the Support Services Office according to set policies.
- Supervise all aspects of food production and service of all meals and nourishment.
- Conduct a daily inspection of the kitchen and serveries to identify and resolve issues.
- Conduct regular meal service rounds for all dining areas in the home.
- Assist in maintaining temperature records for all meals, refrigerators, freezers and dish machine.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (student memberships not applicable).
- Member of or eligible for membership in the Ontario Society of Nutrition Management.
- Minimum 1 year experience in large quantity food preparation, financial planning, and food purchasing.
- Supervisory experience in a unionized environment and/or a long term care setting.
- Knowledge of Ontario Food Premises Regulation, Public Health regulations, Food Safety Code of Practice, Canada's Food Guide, ORCA, Long Term Care Homes Act and 2007 regulations, and OH&S Act.
- Understanding of Canada's Food Guide, and techniques of large scale purchase and preparation for a LTC environment.
- Experience in large scale budget and financial management for a Dietary Department.
- Knowledge of dietary and nutritional care needs and menu planning for the elderly, including special diets and textures.
- Computer skills including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
- Must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check (Ontario).
- Must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check (British Columbia).
- Minimum 2 years' experience in the long term care home sector (preferred).
- Knowledge of Point Click Care and Synergy Program.
