Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant

My client, a large, well-respected, international Multidisciplinary Consultancy, is seeking a Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant to join their expanding team of engineering and design professionals in London.

Essential Criteria:

1. Extensive experience in producing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies.
2. Proficiency with relevant software such as InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, GIS, and others.
3. Good knowledge of industry standards and planning systems, including flood-related policies, the NPPF, and the SuDS Manual.
4. Aware of flood- and drainage-related constraints and opportunities for various development sites.
5. Project management experience with strong reporting skills.
6. Excellent communication skills.

Desirable Skills:

• Stakeholder management and engagement experience.
• Commitment to professional development.
• Good time management and adaptability.
• Knowledge of Tuflow, Flood Modeller, FEH, or river restoration.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Assist in preparing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies.
2. Contribute to projects in property, renewable energy, and aviation sectors.
3. Manage projects from strategy development to implementation.
4. Engage with various consenting regimes, such as Town and Country Planning and Development Consent Orders.
5. Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to design SuDS schemes and incorporate them into broader masterplans, including preparing planning reports.
