Job Description
Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse to join our nursing team with the Oxford Area School District. In this full-time position working 180 school days, you will provide high-quality nursing care across various departments, ensuring patient safety and comfort while adapting to the diverse needs of our patient population. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. This position is a float nursing position with daily building assignments. There is opportunity to work summer school hours as well.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver nursing care and first aid to students in any of our school district buildings which has 6 schools.
  • Assess patient conditions, document findings, and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of services when applicable.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education opportunities to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
  • Provide support and guidance to nursing staff and assist with clinical decision making as needed.
  • Such other appropriate duties may be assigned.
Requirements
  • Current and valid nursing PA license, a minimum of an LPN but an RN is preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; associate degree in nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a clinical or school setting.
  • Current CPR certificate.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team oriented environment.
  • Ability to adapt to new situations and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced healthcare setting.
  • Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other healthcare technologies.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical nursing practices.
