Flexible Teaching Assistant

Overview

Axcis Education is currently recruiting for a Teaching assistant that is able to work flexibly across schools in Herefordshire. The role includes being on standby to go into work on selected days 8:30 4pm during term time only, with an immediate start date. You will be able to choose which days you are available to work, making it ideal for someone who needs to balance other commitments such as childcare or further education. Notice will usually be given the day before or on the day of work, so the role is best suited to drivers or individuals comfortable with public transport. Once on the job you could be supporting a child one to one or providing general help with students around the school, often covering a staff member who is on holiday, sick, or attending training. Previous classroom experience is not required, but we do want to see that you can work effectively with young people; experience in a support role, coaching, or a care setting is beneficial. Working through Axcis gives you access to a training portal and a supportive environment, ensuring you feel prepared for whatever the day may bring.

Responsibilities

• Standby to work on selected days from 8:30 to 4:00 during term time only.
• Support individual students one to one or provide general assistance to students in school.
• Cover other staff members who are on holiday, sick, or attending training.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Able to work with young people.
• Experience in a support role, coaching, or care setting is beneficial.
• Valid driver's licence or confident in using public transport.
• Prepared to provide an up to date DBS or allow Axcis to process one on your behalf.
• Ready to attend a face to face interview to demonstrate suitability for the role.

Compensation and Benefits

£14.25 per hour. The position is temporary unless stated otherwise, with access to the Axcis training portal.
