You can embrace your curiosity in a culture that celebrates new ideas and diverse perspectives. You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.

WSP has an ambitious goal to transition to a sustainable, ultra-low emission (ULEV) fleet and achieve carbon neutrality. We are looking for an experienced Fleet Manager to lead the delivery of our UK Fleet strategy, drive innovation, and ensure our fleet services are safe, compliant, cost-effective, and future-ready.

This is a high-impact role with visibility across the UK business. You will work closely with leaders, key stakeholders, and trusted suppliers to influence strategy, improve performance, and enhance the experience of our people.

A little more about your role

Strategy
  • Lead the development and delivery of the UK Fleet strategy, aligned to sustainability, ESG, and emissions targets. Collaborate with key functions and stakeholders to evolve, drive and deliver the strategy.
  • Support and guide annual fleet spend.
  • Maximise supply chain opportunities to ensure effective and efficient fleet deployment. Ensure fleet options meet business policies, emissions targets, sustainability objectives and business requirements.
  • Shape the future of the fleet service at WSP, including developing and deploying initiatives such as EV adoption, car clubs, pool vehicles, and charging infrastructure.
  • Establish current and future vehicle and travel demand, developing solutions that balance business needs, cost, compliance, and sustainability.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, assessing their relevance and value for WSP.
  • Provide expertise, guidance and support to cost centre managers to ensure fleet choices are economically viable and are aligned to our sustainability targets.
  • Drive cross-business projects and initiatives, using strong change management to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Work closely with the Deputy Head of Business Administration in aligning key initiatives relating to our UK Travel Strategy focussed on traveller experience, health, safety and ESG.
Operations & finance
  • Oversee day-to-day fleet operations, acting as the escalation point for urgent issues, incidents, and complex queries.
  • Own and maintain fleet policies, procedures, and controls, ensuring compliance with legislation and internal standards.
  • Manage and maximise supplier relationships, performance and value add activities. Realise cost base savings through maximising manufactures support packages.
  • Monitor fleet spend, reconcile invoices, identify cost-saving opportunities, and minimise ancillary costs.
  • Lead fleet reporting and performance measurement of key targets and initiatives, analysing data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage accidents, insurance claims, fines, and penalties, working closely with HSEQ and insurance teams.
  • Support future fleet integration delivery and implementation.
People & leadership
  • Lead and support the Fleet team, providing clear direction, coaching, and day-to-day guidance.
  • Champion the WSP Advantage Scheme to encourage transition away from grey fleet to lower-emission alternatives.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture based on trust, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a visible, values-led leader, role-modelling safety, professionalism, and integrity.
Communication & stakeholder engagement
  • Develop and deliver the Fleet communications plan and contribute to the wider UK Travel communications strategy.
  • Build strong relationships with leaders, cost centre managers, and employees across the business.
  • Present insights, outcomes, and recommendations clearly to support informed decision-making.
  • Handle challenging situations and escalations with professionalism, sound judgement, and fairness.
  • Handle escalations effectively, ensuring timely and fair outcomes.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate
