The Fleet Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve the overall visibility of Peli Biothermal and customer owned packaging assets. This requires a comprehensive understanding of the health of a packaging fleet, including the age, expiration date and utilization rates of client specific and regional packaging programs.
Understanding asset lifecycle management from initial planning and acquisition through to their eventual replacement or disposal is essential to the success of this role. Active collaboration with PBT functions that support the physical and financial aspects of asset procurement along with the digital footprint of those assets will allow the fleet manager to provide informed decisions on replacement, and re positioning of packaging fleets globally to meet PBT and customer expectations.
As a customer facing resource, the fleet manager will provide a focal point for PBT customers and be a vital partner to assist with their demand planning processes.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure full visibility of packaging assets across all PBT and client owned packaging fleets.
- Align fleet sizes, ages and other parameters with contractual obligations of PBT and PBT's customers.
- Create a baseline 'Fleet Health' score, using the relevant metrics available and track as a key performance indicator (KPI).
- Use proprietary asset management software to analyze fleet size, recommend replacement dates and other parameters in line with business demand and make recommendations on actions to take to improve 'Fleet Health'.
- Creating, reviewing and refining SOP's and work instructions as they relate to the Fleet Management process and supporting processes.
- Work closely with asset management product manager to advise on new software enhancements and developments that will complement and improve the fleet management process.
- Preparing Capital Expenditure Requests for new and replacement packaging assets across all services program types.
- Management of fleet production with manufacturing facilities to meet target dates for 'services' fleet delivery.
- Coordinating the distribution of packaging fleets to service centers globally, including (but not limited to) high volume CredoGo programs.
- Managing distribution and visibility of CredoVault assets globally and collaborating with the Services Logistics team to establish utilization rates across all bulk packaging assets.
- Spearhead the data gathering, demand planning and alignment process steps of SIOP planning for Services for both new and existing fleet.
- Investigate systematic and physical discrepancies of inventory to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data outputs.
- Support regular annual/quarterly budgeting process, by providing trends and forecasts relating to new and replacement asset builds.
- Implement initiatives and strategies aimed at improving operational processes that support the fleet management function.
- Monthly reporting on Fleet Health for all program types.
- Demonstrate professional maturity when making decisions and adapting to challenges.
- Stay informed about the latest industry developments to help the company remain competitive in the market.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in asset or packaging management in the services industry or a closely aligned field.
- In-depth knowledge of services principles, practices and relevant technologies such as inventory/asset management systems and warehouse management systems.
- Working knowledge of SAP.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data insights into practical applications.
- Knowledge of how packaging interacts with products, supply chains and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to influence cross functional stakeholders and drive results of direct and indirect teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Innovative approach to solving problems and thinking of new ways to optimize packaging and financial performance.
- Experience with continuous improvement principles and how to apply them to process.
- Continuous improvement certifications are desirable (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, CCIP/CCIM).
- MBA a plus.
- Power BI, business analytics experience or proven ability to work with large business intelligence tools preferred.
