Job IntroductionWe're looking for a Domestic Assistant to join our Sodexo team at Sudbury House Ipswich . In this vital role, you'll help create a safe,clean, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Your workwill directly support health and wellbeing throughout the hospital. What you'll do:- Carry out daily cleaning tasks including mopping, vacuuming, dusting, waste disposal, and replenishing supplies.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in line with national cleaning specifications.
- Complete discharge, deep-clean, and infection-control cleaning tasks as required.
- Follow cleaning schedules, complete documentation, and ensure compliance with procedures.
- Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment in line with COSHH regulations.
- Report faulty equipment, hazards, accidents, or incidents promptly.
- Ensure cleaning cupboards, equipment, and stock levels are maintained and organised.
- Remove and dispose of general and clinical waste correctly.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support a safe and welcoming environment.
- Follow all health & safety, safeguarding, infection prevention, and confidentiality requirements.
- Previous cleaning experience.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, COSHH, and Health & Safety practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
- A positive, reliable, and professional approach.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/5 or equivalent).
